Wine Recommendation

Navarro Vineyards

2007 Gewurztraminer, Estate Bottled
(Anderson Valley)

Superb spice of carnation/gardenia, with rose petals and subtle mid-palate flavors that will develop more fully in a year. Just about bone dry. Navarro, one of America’s finest producers of a wide range of wine, sells to restaurants but no retailers. The best way to get Navarro wines is direct from the winery.

The Reviewer

Dan Berger

Dan Berger has been reviewing wine for 30 years, always seeking character related to varietal type and regional identity. He has never used numbers to rank wine and doesn’t plan to start any time soon. He believes that weight and concentration aren’t the only worthy aspects of wine and is especially smitten by cool-climate and food-friendly wines that offer distinctiveness.
